The Snow Project ("we", "us" or "our") operates the website at reapsnow.com and the related mobile applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using The Snow Project, you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly and information collected automatically when you use the site.
- Account information: When you create a free account we store your email address and an encrypted password. Your email is used to sign you in and to send essential account messages such as password resets.
- Favourites data: The slopes you save to your favourites are linked to your account so that you can access them across devices. This data is private to you and is not shared with other users.
- Usage data: We log standard technical information such as browser type, device type and the pages you visit, which helps us understand how the site is used and improve it over time.
How we use your information
- To provide your account, sign-in and saved favourites features.
- To display snow forecasts, webcam feeds and slope information relevant to you.
- To respond to your questions, slope suggestions and corrections.
- To analyse and improve the content, performance and usability of the site.
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues, fraud or abuse.
Weather and webcam data
Snow forecasts are retrieved from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (met.no) Locationforecast service. Webcam images and streams are provided by third-party operators such as Feratel, Skaping, Roundshot and resort websites. We display this data for your convenience but we do not control its accuracy or availability, and we cannot be held responsible for decisions made on the basis of forecast or webcam information.
